Background Story

PopOutNine16 originated in the summer of 2020 at Granite Skatepark located in Sacramento, CA. Produced by local independent music collective WildLife Entertainment the event was born out of community necessity. We witnessed a lack of representation amongst a demographic very much in need of support. What started as a way to encourage a group of young adults and teenagers through supporting them when they and their talents were often overlooked, blossomed into a multifaceted platform for all. Through facilitating activities and providing a platform for the arts, PopOutNine16 has created a safe haven for many. The event showcases upcoming, emerging, and established local artists and performers, while honoring their skateboard community roots by highlighting the local talent through skate competitions. In addition the event provides safe and fun opportunities to the youth, including but not limited to outreach, education, games, arts, and crafts, while remaining  free for all ages. The Pop-Out amplifies that which is unique in each and every attendee. Our community events are produced throughout the summer with one event every month from May through September. Local sponsors collaborate with our production team to provide prizes for the skate competition, swag, and goodies to performers and attendees
